No more Android app for email?

I may have put this in the wrong forum before, so I'll ask it here also.

Before I go on a tirade, let me make sure I understand this correctly. I usually use a real PC with multiple large monitors and a real email app. But occasionally I may need to use my android phone to check my Xfinity email.

I had the Xfinity app on my home screen, I just tapped it and checked my email. But I guess now I will need to open CHROME and find a favorites that I set for the Xfinity connect website?

@Tourglide1 You can use any email app for Android to check your Xfinity email.  It just won't have the ability to check for landline voice messages or making landline calls.  Head to the Play store on your phone to find an email app you like or use the app that came with your phone.

I am trying to setup new email app since the other expired. I'm in manuel setup with the email app that came with my android phone but there are no directions. Help!!

For most apps you just put in your email address and password then it sets itself up.

I can understand the frustration if you are running into errors with setting up your Xfinity email with a third party client. This link will provide you the instructions on how to set it up if it isn't a plug and play email client: https://comca.st/2QlSWBW. You are also able to still access your Xfinity email directly from our https://comca.st/3awwnBw website as well! I hope this information is helpful.

No, it doesn’t help at all. Did Comcast do a survey before removing the app? No, they didn’t. We want the app back...period.

You can use Gmail to add an account. Just type in your email address and password, and that's it. You can also use Outlook and many others. Most are just plug-and-play. They recognize "comcast.net" and will select the proper servers and settings.

Thank you for this advice. I added my comcast.net e-mail account to the Gmail app on an Android tablet. I wold like to keep messages on the comcast/xfinity server. That was the default on the discontinued Xfinity Connect application. I am confused about how to set the Sync settings. At first, I set the frequency to NEVER, but checked Sync. But all of my Trash messages on the server were copied to the Trash folder on the Gmail app on my Android. So I turned off Sync. I guess I must turn on Sync manually every time I open the Gmail app. The Xfininity Connect application worked very well, and I am sorry they took it down.

I pay over $200 a month to Xfinity, but I’m now supposed to rely on Google for getting my email? That’s ridiculous. So much for customer support.

Obviously, this is not about convenience for the customer. I wonder , did they consider asking us how this change would affect us each day. And not offering any easy solution for accessing our email accounts.

@Dhdeb96 you can use any email app you'd like on your phone, and you may even have one on your phone already.  Just go to the app store that corresponds to your phone brand.

IMHO, customers are always complaining about lack of control of how they are able to access this or that.  Comcast just gave customers an alternate way to handle their email.  And FWIW, if you didn't use the Voice2Go part of the app, you could have been using any email app you wanted anyway.

What are you all doing and why? Why discontinue the email app? Why? If anything you should be updating it. 

This is so ridiculous! Comcast is not cheap at all, the very least you can do is provide some customer services like...

re integrating the app. 

Who do we speak to or where do we write ‘cause I don’t want to use a third party, and I have several goggle accounts, I’d like to keep them separate.

I too am extremely disappointed that the xfinity email app for android has been discontinued. I used it often when travelling and found it very useful. This is a great example of the deterioration of improving customer experience. I know there is a huge customer base that found this app convenient and I'd like to know how we can convince comcast to bring it back.
