New Xfinity App integration

Hi all

Any idea when customers not using Xfinity gateways will be able to navigate cameras on the new xfinity app?    I was told it would be soon and its been quite awhile     i am using my own modem, router and Xfinitys Sidecar router for the home services

Hello @kgowen4444, I hope you're doing well. You are asking a great question! At this time, the only in-home network management features for customers with their own modems and/or routers are:

  • View online/offline status of your modem
  • Restart your modem
  • Run speed test

We don't currently have a time frame available on when new abilities will be added within the Xfinity app, however, you should still be able to manage your cameras via the Xfinity Home app! Have you tried that app out yet to see if you can view your camera details there to see the streaming video or the most recently saved video clips?

I have.   It’s clunky though.    I’m not sure why you took down the web portal when nothing was in place for us that have our own equipment.    We do pay the same price for services.    Why were we left out? Seems a bit unfair does it not?

When using one of our modems, it is configured to work with our network perfectly, which allows you the opportunity to take advantage of all the different features we offer. When using third-party equipment, it is not set up the same way and so it doesn't always allow for the same compatibility in all areas, which does result in limited features. I have been opting to use my own modem for years, so I can totally understand where you are coming from with this. We are always looking to expand the functionalities available to all customers, and strive to provide the same experience regardless of the modem you use. Your feedback on this is extremely important, and I will definitely ensure to pass it along for you. I am hopeful we'll have some more news on any future changes later down the line! Please let me know if there is anything else that we can assist you with!
