Cat6 for cameras

I have 3 Xcam cameras. They were working fine and connected to the touchscreen. I disconnected them to start installing outside. I have Cat5e patched and Cat6 cables. I tried 2 patched Cat5e's but I get no lights on the cameras. I tried the xFinity Assistant but it keeps telling me to replace my xFi Pods (that I don't have or ever needed). The plugin (transmit/receive shows solid blue) I tried following this: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/control-tips-mounting-camera-outside . I was wondering if I could use Cat6, or do I need to purchase Cat5e? Or am I doing something wrong?

Everything worked when the Technician was out here. I'm guessing it's a cable issue?

Thanks,

Greetings, @Knteshade! Thanks for reaching out to us on the Forums! I hope you are having an amazing day! I apologize to hear of the issues you are running into your cameras not working correctly. You should be able to use a Cat6 cable without an issue as it provides more bandwidth than the Cat5e, but either cable should work. Have you tested the cables of other devices to make sure they are working? Maybe use them on a laptop to a router to make sure data is being transmitted?

@ComcastMichael Thank you for the information. I'll try those when I get the cables and router.
