Do the episodes that are recorded have titles and original air dates (other than the dates that they are airing)? Quite often, an older show with a generic episode description for the series will be considered a "new" episode, probably because the DVR does not want to take the chance that the episode really is new and you would miss a new episode as a result.
This is a problem with either whoever supplied the show information to the listings company, or the listings company itself. (In the past, I have found that the first one is the most likely.) Also, quite often, the listings will be corrected before the episodes air, and the repeats will not be recorded; Cartoon Network/Adult Swim does this a lot.
@ThatDonGuy What is the Adult swim channel? I assume it is not how it sounds.
@dcfox "Adult Swim" is just the name for Cartoon Network's late night block (I think "adult swim" programming starts at 10 PM Eastern/Pacific). It is the block where shows like Robot Chicken and Rick & Morty are aired. It is the same channel as Cartoon Network.
Adult Swim starts at 8pm on CN, except during the holidays when toy ads are lucrative enough for CN to have the 8pm hour (and then it starts at 9).

As noted, check if they actually say 'repeat' or not. If a show has no "new" or "repeat" tag, it will be treated as new. Also, it's not unusual for some networks to only have a week or so of good data. Beyond that, it can often be filled with many entries that have no titles and descriptions are generic. They usually fix up at least a few days before the air date. For example, I have a ton of "Unearthed" and "Mysteries of the Abandoned" showing up starting around this weekend on the Science Channel. I also often see shows like "Spongebob Squarepants" and others do the same, most commonly when those shows are set to air at the beginning of a month.
Comcast /xfinity need to do something about this, not 5 min. Ago I deleted 27 shows, same show, differdnt days all in the early morning hours.
